Responsibility:

·       Daily nursery operations, includingseeding, propagation and plant maintenance, while frequently working independently.

·       Daily Farm operations, including general farm maintenance & repairs, spraying, mowing, spreading compost or fertilizer, Irrigation flushing & repairs,  and Compost making, while frequently working independently.

·       Execution of field operations, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops, as well as maintaining plant health and soil fertility

·       Operate farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed

·       Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

·       Identify and correct unsafe and unacceptable farming practices and behavior

·       Assist in farm development including infrastructure, planting, irrigation, Water infrastructure construction/storage plans

·       Monitor weather conditions, soil moisture levels, and crop development to inform decision-making and optimise farming practices

·       Monitor plant health by identifying signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies for appropriate action

·       Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including planting dates, crop yields, chemical applications, equipment usage, and labour hours

·       Coordinate all aspects of farm operations and scheduling, including large-scale floriculture, orchards, and nursery planting.  

Skills:

·       Commitment to a safety-first culture

·       Experience with mowers, tractors, spraying experience and general farm equipment and nursery is essential

·       Forklift license or willingness to obtain

·       Ability to complete physically demanding tasks

·       Current driver's license

·      3 years experience in large-scale floriculture, orchards, nurseries or equivalent sectors.

·       Certificate in Agriculture (bonus)
