Photographic appropriation of modern life:photographic images and the construction of meaning in commodity culture...
最近問過一下lecture,能理解的是:
1950-1960 為於Modern life的開始
Development of advertisement=Development of commdity
昨天又發了個電郵給lecturer,不過還是不太懂....
'Hi Nelson, photography was one of the firstcommodities at the beginning of the age of commodities. The photographalso was a means of picturing or advertising other commodities and bythe 1950's commodities and photographs were locked into a union ofvisual spectacle. Guy Debord called this the society of the spectacle. It is very difficult, probably impossible, to separate photographicimages from other commodities. What has been done is to split thephotographic sign into two components - the sign and the thingsignified: this is called semiotics and we shall look at this in afuture lecture. However, it is now considered that there is nodifference between the sign for (say a BMW) and a BMW.'
我想说....你学这个的意义何在....还不如正经学点用光,构图之类的
