GMS (General Manufacturing Services Pty Ltd) is a labour hire business supplying casual workers to Holden. They currently require people to work an occasional Saturday shift at overtime rates. The frequency is not anticipated to be more than twice a month and is dependent on Holden's production requirements. There may not be more than a few days' notice of any such shifts. You are not obliged to take a shift on offer.
Some training is required and takes place on the 3 days leading up to the first shift. If you are not available to participate in the training, we are unable to offer you a position. Training is paid at $26.95 per hour. The next training is this Wednesday from 7.30am to 3.30pm, and this Thursday and Friday from 6.10am to 2.40pm. Further training may be necessary if it has been a few months since your last shift but this would only be 2 days instead of 3.
Our recruitment process includes attending a group interview at our head office on Greenhill Road in Eastwood. There are currently places available in our group interview on Tuesday at 9am and 12.30pm. The session will run for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
Please note the following: - The amount earned for a full Saturday shift is about $295 before tax - Work depends on whether Holden needs to run an extra shift or not - Shifts begin at 6:10am and end at 2:10pm - punctuality is very important - It is hard physical work in a fast-paced high pressure manufacturing environment. It can get uncomfortable, hot and noisy in the factory so you need to be able to handle that. - Are you physically fit enough for this type of work? - Do you have any experience working in a physically demanding job? - Do you have your own transport? It is very hard to get to a 6:10am start relying on public transport
If you would like to be considered for this round of recruitment, please reply to this email with the subject line YES before Monday 12pm.
